World Double Bit Axe Throwing Championship 2024 - Competition

We would like to be able to have around 200 competitors from all over the world come to compete in the biggest championship yet. With competition over 3 days in 5 categories, we are aiming to make sure everyone who takes part gets a decent amount of throwing in.

To add to the show of the competition, there will be have-a-go areas for axe and knife throwing, as well as blacksmith and chainsaw carving demonstrations.

There is a huge amount of space at the venue so we will be inviting a host of local businesses to hold stalls of all kinds, so there should be something for everyone to take home as a momento.

The event will be open to the general public and interest so far has been high, hopefully this leads to a lot of spectators and newcomers to the sport.

The location & accessibility of Thirsk makes it an excellent option for the event. It is very easy to get to by road and rail along with links to airports in the north east and Manchester.

The racecourse regularly hosts events that attract thousands of visitors, we aim to be able to boast the same by offering not only some great competition in a unique sport but also have something for everyone who attends.
